How To Get Your Real Estate Salesperson License In Washington, D.C.

1. General Washington, D.C. Salesperson License Requirements

The general requirements for real estate salespersons defined by the District of Columbia Real Estate Commision (DCREC) are as follows:

  • Be able to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Be a high school graduate or the holder of a high school equivalency certificate
  • Must not have had a real estate application denied within the last year, other than failure to pass the required examination.
  • Must not have had a real estate license suspended or revoked in D.C. or elsewhere.

2. Salesperson License Education Requirements in Washington, D.C.

Below are credit hours required for the Washington, D.C. pre-license course to qualify for your salesperson license.

3. Additional Salesperson License Requirements in Washington, D.C.

  • Complete your Washington, D.C. real estate license application
